A few weeks ago Simone at  Junglefrog Cooking had announced the new challenge of this month: food or drink in a glass.

Who has never ever tried to take pics on glass of drinks cannot imagine what a difficult task is that. And just to have a more exciting life, the task was not simply take photos as usual, but preferably use back lighting because it gives life and color and everything to your drink. What a big difference!
Honestly, I have to say I practiced in the last two weeks every day. My biggest problem was that natural light had totally disappeared. In UK seemed that sunlight couldn’t have been enjoyed until next summer…..
So first of all I used my softbox and all other equipement to give some light to my drinks, but as I had been used to differentiate two kinds of light, I prefer natural light whenever it’s possible. So I was disappointed looking at the pics. These were not bad just nothing. No life, no shine, they were just like if my son had taken them. And after two weeks I thought I had the last chance yesterday close to deadline. I managed to stand up reflectors, softbox, effectors and everything, when I realized that lovely, tiny sunshine is beaming through my small window just right to my glass of drinks. It just took for a few seconds, but I did my best to bring it to your computers. What do You think, is there difference between backlight and frontlight?

Ingerdients:
Serves 2
500 ml hot water
1 tea bag (preferably Earl Grey or English Breakfast tea)
1 tbsp Cointreau
1 tbsp granulated sugar
squeze of lemon

cinnamon stick, orange rind and orange slices to garnish

Simply make a tea with tea bag and hot water. Add sugar to taste, lemon juice and if You make to adults add Cointreau just when tea is not very hot. Otherwise alcohol will be evaporated. If kids also taste it, add the Cointreau to very hot tea.
Serve with rind of orange and cinnamon stick.

I'm so glad you got that little bit of sunshine at the last minute! Yes, light can be tricky at these times of the year so you'll be happy to know you do not need a lot of light for the next challenge.. Lol… Love the look of that first picture. The tea really comes to life beautifully!

Great job on the pics. I love the flavors that you incorporated into the tea!
